A memorable cup of matcha in New York introduced our founder to vivid color, smooth umami and the care of whisking tea. It became a reference point for the kind of matcha experience Tenkujima wants to share.

Stillness became an idea

After the pace of working life in Manhattan, a visit to the Isle of Skye brought a sense of stillness. It inspired the name Tenkujima — “island in the sky” — and the wish to bring that pause into an ordinary day.
